Canal District to feature upscale housing

THE VISION for the ambitious and controversial Canal District took another step closer to reality last week, as City Council approved a surplus property sale to the developers of an upscale apartment complex there. The 243-unit, $40 million "703 Louisville" development will be "fair market apartments, not student oriented apartments," said lead architect Patrick Shay, of Gunn Meyerhoff and Shay.

Highlights include a solo show April 12 from Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy, and Angelique Kidjo returning to SMF with her latest project, a critically-hailed reimagining of the Talking Heads' Remain in Light . For his first performance at SMF, legendary guitarist Pat Metheny presents the first edition of "Side Eye," a new concept that allows him to showcase young players of note .

Alzheimer's Association Consultations - Ashland Public Library and the Northwest Ohio Chapter of Alzheimer's Association will present the first drop-in consultation session of their series for the public with questions and concerns related to Alzheimer's. Free and open to the public, held at the Ashland Public Library at 3 p.m. The Servant of Two Masters - Ashland High School will present "The Servant of Two Masters" this Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. in the Little Theater.
